The tree cover is the thing that distinguishes Safety Harbor pools. Mature canopy over a pool means constant organic load, and most of the pool plumbing, skimmer and filter work here follows from it — leaves in the skimmer, filters working harder than their rating, and water chemistry pulled around by everything that falls into it. Equipment here is rarely failing because it is old; it is failing because it has been asked to do more than a pool in open sun.
Old Tampa Bay is also a different environment from the Gulf side. There is salt influence on the water, but it is a calmer, more sheltered exposure than a barrier island gets, and pool equipment ages more like inland Pinellas than like the beaches. That is worth knowing before anyone quotes marine-grade components for a property here.

Safety Harbor Questions
My filter needs cleaning constantly. Is it undersized?
Possibly, but under heavy canopy it is more often that the filter is correctly sized for a pool in open sun and this one is not. Increasing filtration capacity or run time usually costs less than replacing what is there.
Do I need marine-grade equipment on Old Tampa Bay?
Generally less than on the Gulf side. The exposure here is real but far gentler than a barrier island, and equipment tends to age more like inland Pinellas. We will tell you honestly when the premium is not worth paying.
Fourteen miles is a long way. Is there a call-out charge?
No surcharge. It is the outer edge of our service area, so we tend to schedule Safety Harbor work in runs rather than one-off trips, which means next-day rather than same-day for anything routine.
